The sector of the wood demands measures of promotion of the consumption to go out of the crisis

The closing of the day was chargeable to the Rector of the International University Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP), Salvador Ordóñez, who demonstrated his support to the sector and highlighted his potential in the environmental area.

The Businessmen's Spanish Federation of the Madeira (CONFEMADERA) celebrated yesterday in Madrid his General annual Assembly, in which there took part representatives of the different territorial and sub-sectorial associations of the whole Spain who integrate it. In the frame of the Assembly, from CONFEMADERA one has insisted on the need of that the Administration should start measures that promote the consumption of a direct way, since it has been done successfully in other industrial sectors, since the last actions directed to promote the market of the rehabilitation and the reform, though they go in the correct line, are sufficient to activate the sector.

For Francesc de Paula Pons, General Secretary of CONFEMADERA, "the sector needs urgently measured that they have a positive immediate effect opposite to the unemployment, the black economy and the reactivation of his industrial activity, which will redound in addition to benefit of the set of the Spanish economy". With this purpose, "today more that - affirms Pons - the Federation never centres his efforts towards the defence before the public organisms of a managerial sector of vital importance on the set of the economy".

After the celebration of the Assembly, in which the Memory of Activities was approved 2009 and the economic memory of the Federation, a day took place opened on "The day after the crisis. The Madeira in the new scene of the Sustainable Economy", in that there was analyzed how there must be prepared the companies of the sector of the wood and the furniture to be still present on the market in conditions of competitiveness when the economic conditions should return to the normality.

During the day, which was presided by the President of CONFEMADERA, Pedro García Moya, and it was moderated by Pilar Calvo, Chairwoman of the project ' To live with Madeira ', the managers of giving his vision before the new scene were Juan Ángel Lafuente, Titular Teacher of the University Castellón's Jaume I, which offered his vision of the economic Spanish reality and his repercussion in the sector, affirming that "our economy goes out of seven quarters of recession and the first lights are seen at the end of the tunnel". Lafuente exposed that Spain is in the position 33 of the ranking of the most competitive countries of the world and assured that the key to improve this position is the innovation, in which still we are in very low levels. In addition, it indicated four lines of future for the sector wood - furniture: to improve the competitiveness across the innovation, to modify the system of wage incentives, to increase the average size of the companies by means of the collaboration and new measures of economic politics, since it is the control for the imports.

For your part, Juan Mellen, The Executive Director of the Association of undertakings of Spanish Design (NETWORK), spoke about the trends of the design and perspectives of future in the sector and assured that "the design is an attitude, it is everywhere". Harm it predicted that in ten years a new model of industry will exist: Flash industry that would consist of processes of design and digitized production and products done in any part of the world adapted to the needs of the client.

For your part, Jose Maria Lacasa, General Secretary of CEOE, contributed the managerial vision of the economic conjuncture and aimed at the "hanging duties": process of fiscal consolidation and reduction of the public deficit; you amend to the labour reform; reform of the pensions and financial, since, according to Lacasa, "the financing is just now the principal problem of the companies". The representative of the employer Spanish woman insisted also on the importance of the competitiveness.

The closing of the day was chargeable to Salvador Ordóñez, Rector of the International University Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP), who emphasized the potential of the sector wood - furniture in the environmental area and repeated the need to increase the Spanish investment in innovation, at the time that it stressed the paper of the formation and the management of the talent. In spite of admitting that there is a lot of work that to do in the area of the formation, Ordóñez concluded: "In these moments we have the citizens better prepared that it has had Spain in all his History".
